So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

Farmers' markets are the most common among direct marketing channels. Besides promoting local food production, it provides an additional income to farmers, and fresh food and affordable shopping for consumers. It also contributes to the revival of rural economies and the overcoming of marketing intermediaries. In the study, this supply system, which is rapidly spreading all over the world has been examined. Farmers' markets have increased dramatically in the US and EU countries in the last 20-30 years. In Turkey in 2012, Farmers’ Markets have gained a legal status. However, it is also seen that the method, still in the process of growing, has been a supply method that existed in some provinces with different names before legal status. This market, in which has been existence for a long time in Yalova, is evaluated based on its locations, market places, producers and consumers. The aim of the study is to determine the strengths and weaknesses of this traditional market and to develop proposals for the location and sustainability for prospective establishment of new markets. Along with the insight of previous studies, an evaluation of has been made based on the criteria used in the purpose of success and continuity of the market.   Interview (interview) technique which is commonly used in collecting data in qualitative researches has been applied to determine producer opinions. In the evaluation, it was determined that the market place has an advantageous position in terms of transportation, parking and population. It is seen that the market place has potential to meet the demands of the customers. It is expected that study will contribute to the limited literature on the farmers' market in Turkey.  It is also expected that the proposal will provide a preliminary idea to new markets.
