Viranşehir (Şanlıurfa) Şehir Merkezi’ndeki Trafik Kazalarının Coğrafi Analizi (2013-2017)

Abstract:

Türkiye’de nüfusa paralel olarak araç sayısında da sürekli olarak artış görülmektedir. Artan araç sayısına bağlı olarak da trafik de meydana gelen kazaların sayısı artmıştır. Trafikte gerçekleşen kazalar maddi ve manevi sonuçlarının yanı sıra ciddi travmalarla, yaralanmalarla ve ölümlerle de sonuçlanabilmektedir. Türkiye’de en fazla karayolu ulaşımının tercih edilmesi, trafik kazalarının artmasında büyük bir etmen olmuştur.  Türkiye’de 2013-2017 yılları arasında gerçekleşen toplam trafik kazası sayısı 5.530.090’dır. Bu kazalardan 1.497.353’ü yaralanma ve ölümle sonuçlanmıştır. Dünya’da ve Türkiye’de trafik kazalarını azaltmak için çeşitli araştırmalar yapılmış fakat bu araştırmalar kazaları azaltmada çok fazla etkili olamamıştır. Trafik kazalarının analizinde, azaltılmasında ve karar verme sürecinde Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi (CBS) oldukça yaygın bir şekilde kullanılmaktadır. Trafik kazalarında CBS kullanımı; kaza sıcak noktalarının, kara noktalarının tespiti ve kazaların yıllara göre yoğunluk değişiminin gösterilebilmesi için büyük öneme sahiptir. Bu çalışmada 2013-2017 yılları arasında Viranşehir (Şanlıurfa) şehir merkezinde gerçekleşen trafik kazası verileri kullanılmıştır. Kaza verileri İçişleri Bakanlığı Trafik Denetleme Şube Müdürlüğü’nden elde edilmiştir. Çalışma alanında gerçekleşen trafik kazaları ay, gün ve saat ayrımının yanı sıra gece ve gündüz, yol durumuna, hava durumuna ve kazanın ölümlü veya yaralanmalı olmasına göre analiz edilmiştir. 2013-2017 yılları arasında gerçekleşen trafik kazalarının değişim analizi yapılmış ve kaza kara noktaları belirlenmiştir.

The number of vehicles has steadily increased in parallel with the population in Turkey. Depending on the increasing number of vehicles, the number of accidents occurred in traffic has also increased. Traffic accidents can result in serious traumas, injuries and deaths as well as their material and moral consequences. And the fact that highway transportation is commonly preferred in Turkey, has been a major factor in the increase of traffic accidents. The total number of traffic accidents that occurred between the years of 2013-2017 in Turkey is 5.530.090, 1.497.353 of these accidents resulted in injury and death. Various studies have been conducted to reduce traffic accidents in the world and Turkey, but they could not be much effective in reducing accidents. The Geographic Information System (GIS) is widely used in the analysis, reduction and decision-making process of traffic accidents. The use of GIS in traffic accidents is of great importance for the identification of accident hotspots, blind spots and changes in the intensity of accidents over the years. In this study, traffic accident data belonging to the city center of Viransehir (Shanlıurfa) between 2013 and 2017 were used. The accident data were obtained from the Ministry of Interior Traffic Inspection Department. Traffic accidents occurred in the study area were analyzed according to month, day and time distinction as well as the factors like day and night, road condition, weather condition and death or injury of the accident. The traffic accidents occurred between the years 2013-2017 were analyzed and the accident blind spots were determined.
