Abstract:

The developments in information and communication technologies have also changed the way individuals communicate, while the internet users have made great opportunities to express themselves. Specifically with Web 2.0 technology, the ease of online sharing, the increase in interactive applications, the increased efficiency of guidance in almost all mechanisms have made the communication quickly electronized. The possibility of smartphones to use multiple media has significantly increased the time of use of social media by individuals. Social networks, which are easily accessible by mobile devices in almost every environment where the internet is available, offer significant opportunities to individuals in the communication sense, while the unconscious use of these networks causes negative consequences. A large number of users who exploit the relatively free environment provided by social media, insult causes a large number of crimes to be committed, primarily. The study "Information Crimes, Communications and Social Media" is trying to show that the number of crimes committed through social media has increased, along with the increase in the rate of social media use. The scan method used is designed to draw attention to the conscious use of social media, focusing on the social media and crime processing relationship.
