Abstract:

After the dissolution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, the discourse of “how they have gained their independence” in the literature about the Central Asian Republics, which is called “backyard” even today, continues to be effective. Based on the discourse in question, the disintegration process of the Soviet Union was mentioned in the framework of the uprisings that took place in the territory of the three republics as of the end of the 1980s. Afterward, the policies implemented by the republics that wanted to integrate into the new system were tried to be analyzed in a holistic way. In addition, although the politics pursued by the 3 Turkic Republics in order to get rid of the Soviet and Russian influence, the new nation-building process was examined, and after the independence, a blessing was attributed to the independence by the mentioned republics, and when all these processes are examined, the experiences related to the post-independence process will be strengthened. The analysis made in the study plans to make this wave of independence more meaningful. It aims to develop a comparative perspective on cultural policies applied in the nation-building process, especially language policies. In addition to this, the study has a unique quality as it brings together the scattered issues in the literature about the independence of the Turkic Republics. It also aims to add a new perspective to the reader in this regard.
