Abstract:

The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between the perceptions of self-sufficiency of the teacher candidates and the motivations towards the teaching profession. Research is an imaginary study in the relational scan model. The research study group consists of 521 teachers candidates who studied at the University of Kastamonu in the 2013-2014 educational teacher year. As a data collection tool, the "Teacher Self-Evaluation Scale" and the "Teacher's Profession Motivation Levels Scale" were used. For the analysis of the data, the Pearson Moment's Collapse Correlation Score has been calculated and a multi-linear regression analysis has been applied. When the research results were evaluated, a meaningful relationship was found between the perceptions of self-sufficiency of the teacher candidates and the motivations towards the teaching profession at the middle level in a positive direction. The motivation for the teaching profession is a meaningful contributor to the self-sufficiency of the teacher. According to the research findings, it can be said that 17% of the total variation regarding teacher self-sufficiency is explained by the motivations of the teacher candidates regarding the teaching profession.
