Yaşanan şirket skandalları ile birlikte piyasalarda güven ihtiyacı oluşmuştur. Bu sebeple gerek devletler gerekse de şirketler güven sağlamak için çeşitli yöntemler kullanmaya başlamıştır. Kullanılan yöntemler, denetim kalitesini arttırarak ya da kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarını yaygınlaştırarak şirketlerin güven ve itibarını yükseltmektedir. Bu çalışmada da şirketlerin skandalları engellemek için gerçekleştirdiği kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarının denetim kalitesi üzerine etkisi araştırılmaktadır. Bu kapsamda Kamuyu Aydınlatma Platformu’nda kayıtlı olan bağımsız denetim şirketlerine uygulanan anket sonucu elde edilen veriler incelenmiştir. Anket soruları literatürdeki çalışmalardan yararlanılarak hazırlanmıştır.Çalışmanın birinci aşamasında ilk olarak, anket sonuçlarına önce faktör analizi uygulanarak denetim kalitesinin ve kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarının boyutları belirlenmiştir. İkinci aşamasında ise eşli t testi kullanılarak beklenen ve algılanan durumlar arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Daha sonra çoklu regresyon analizi yöntemi ile denetim kalitesi boyutları ile kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarının boyutları arasındaki ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak kurumsal yönetim uygulamalarının, denetim kalitesini olumlu etkilediği gözlemlenmiştir.
