Abstract:

War intelligence, communication technologies and the policies of the powers are transformed under the influence. The journalists who have to play an important role in reflecting the developments in the conflict environments to the public can be limited by the practices of the powers. The practice of “upgraduate journalism” developed by the U.S. in the Iraqi operation has been discussed that it causes journalists to look at the events from a military point of view. Many journalists who act independently of such practices have lost their lives in conflict environments. Reporters who are looking for alternative news production practices due to security issues and need to be blocked by the powers, have tried to overcome the barriers of access to news through new communication technologies in the Syrian and Libyan wars. Journalists followed the developments in conflict environments through social media sharing from local sources, but met with intense dezinformation. Focusing on the production style, the study has been conducted by the assumption that the developments in the field will be more visible, the official news sources have come to the forefront in the news stream process, and the role of the reporters in this process has been weakened.
