Abstract:

The study aimed at determining the level of social skills and problem behaviors, by studying the social skills levels, problem behaviors and play behaviors of children in the age group of 5-6 on the basis of the teachers' opinions. The current study, in which the social skills, problem behaviors and play behaviors of children aged 5-6 years are studied, is designed in a form of relative research. The work group of this study consists of a total of 250 children from the 5-6-year-old group studying in 16 pre-school education institutions located in the Karabük province in the 2015-2016 educational year. The participants of the study were selected by the appropriate sampling method. For the purpose of collecting data, the study used the "Pre-school and Kindergarden Behavior Scale (PKBS-2)" and the "Pre-school Game Behavior Scale (ODÖ)" for the purpose of collecting data. For the analysis of the data in the existing research, the t test, the Pearson Moment Correlation Screening and the Multi-Rectal Regression Analysis were performed. The research finds that 5-6-year-old children’s play and problem behaviors differ significantly according to gender and age variable, while their social skills levels differ significantly according to gender and not significantly according to age variable. However, the research results show that children aged 5-6 have meaningful relationships between play behavior, social skills and problem behavior.
