Abstract:

Intelligence plays an important role when an athlete reaches the highest levels. In our research, body training and sports departments are aimed at studying the types of intelligence of candidates entering the special skill exam. The universe of this research was formed by the candidates who entered the Special Skills Examination of the Body Education and Sports High School in Turkey, and the sample was formed by the candidates who entered the Special Skills Examination of the Body Education and Sports High School in Gaziantep. Gardner (1993) has studied eight types of intelligence. The range of points varies between very advanced and not advanced. The normal distribution of the data was looked at and the research data showed normal distribution. The data analysis used the Independent Sample T test and the One Way Anova test. The research results found statistically meaningful results in the sports industry, age, gender, body education and sports department and economic status variables. As a result, the fields of natural intelligence, physical intelligence and social intelligence are important for candidates prepared for the body education departments. The results were found in favour of the candidates in the age group of 23-25 years. It is recommended that the candidates participate in activities that can develop themselves.
