Modernizm’in fotoğrafa atfettiği gerçekliği belgeleme gücü fotoğrafın akla ilk gelen yönü olsa da Postmodernizm, fotoğrafı ayrı bir sanat olarak kabul etmiştir. Böylece yeniden tanımlanan fotoğrafın, özgünlüğü ve tek kaynaktan beslenmeyi reddedişi bireysel dışavurum ile birleştiğinde fotoğrafı gerçeklik ve içerikten ziyade görünüm ve sunuma önem veren, yeniden üretilebilir, deneysel bir sanatsal etkinlik alanı yapmıştır. Bu çalışma, Postmodernizm bağlamında, Batı fotoğrafçılığında yeniden üretim yoluyla kendine mal etme eylemi ile Türk fotoğrafçılığının 1980 sonrası postmodernist bağlamdaki deneysel-kurgusal fotoğraf örneklerine odaklanmaktadır. Bu çerçevede Postmodernizm ve fotoğraf ilişkisinin fotografik çerçevede tartışıldığı bölümden sonra yeniden üretim fotoğraf kavramı Batı fotoğrafçılığındaki başat örnekleriyle ele alınmaktadır. Daha sonra Türk fotoğrafçılığında 1980’den sonra görülen deneysel-kurgusal fotoğrafın tarihine değinilerek bu fotoğraf dalının karanlık oda uygulamalarına dayalı öncü örnekleri, Postmodernizm ile olan bağıntıları çerçevesinde incelenmektedir. Son olarak da hem Batı fotoğrafçılığında hem de Türk fotoğrafçılığında kendine özgü doğası içinde gerçekleşen fotografik Postmodernizm’e dair amaçlanan bağlamda katkı sağlayacak sonuçlar ve değerlendirmeler paylaşılmaktadır.
The reality that modernism attributes to photography, although the documentation power is the first aspect of photography that comes to mind, the postmodernism has accepted photography as a separate art. Thus, when the re-defined photo is combined with the originality and refusal to feed from a single source, it has made the photo a re-producable, experimental artistic field of activity that takes attention to appearance and presentation rather than reality and content. This study focuses on the postmodernism context, the action of self-determination through re-production in Western photography and the experimental-fantastic photographic examples of Turkish photography in the postmodernist context after 1980. In this framework, after the postmodernism and photography relationship discussed in the photographic framework, the re-production photography concept is addressed with the main examples of Western photography. Later, referring to the history of the experimental-fantastic photo seen in Turkish photography after the 1980s, the leading examples of this branch of photography based on the dark room practices are studied in the framework of its ties with Postmodernism. Finally, the results and evaluations that will contribute to the targeted context of the photographic Postmodernism, which occurs in both Western and Turkish photography in its own unique nature, are shared.
