Abstract:

The aim of this study is to evaluate the learning outcomes of the education of music teacher candidates studying at Education Faculties, Music Education Departments with the "Learning Outcomes Scale" (LOS) developed by the researcher *. The study group of the study consists of teacher candidates studying in the senior year of Music Teaching at the specified universities. The scale was made ready for use by performing factor analysis, validity-reliability studies, and pilot applications of the "LOS". The scale, which was made ready for use, was applied to 309 teacher candidates studying in the final classes of Music Teaching at 11 universities in the fall semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. Analysis of the data in line with the data collected from the scale Descriptive statistics are presented with frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation values. According to the statistical data showing the results of the evaluation of the learning outcomes of the music teacher candidates, the learning outcomes in the "knowledge" dimension are medium level (X = 3.15), the learning outcomes in the "skill" dimension are at the medium level (X = 3.18), in the "competence" dimension the learning outcomes are the medium (X = 3.18). As a result of these findings, the research aims to make suggestions within the context of increasing the learning outcomes of music teacher candidates by making determinations about the current situation.
