Abstract:

Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify the technical and structural characteristics of the enterprises involved in the pet farming in the Yozgat province, to present the problems that farmers face and suggestions for solutions to these problems. Material and Method: The material of the study; Yozgat-Center and districts are the survey data made in 200 enterprises that cultivate small animals in Yozgat. The study identified the general characteristics of enterprises, the structural status of enterprises and the characteristics of shelter, the supply of food and feed, the species of animals in enterprises, crowd management, health protection and animal welfare. Results: In the study, 44% of rank first with 101-250 head animals, 28% to 251-500 head, 16.5% to 500 head and above, and 11%. 5 to 50-100 head animals are followed. 68% of the small-scale farmers provide their own cattle and cattle from their cattle. 82.5 per cent of farmers have kept their animals for 8-10 months, and about 70 per cent of have been used in the maintenance and nutrition of cows and boys where no feed is done. The result is that, in addition to the problems of marketing and the lack of farmers, the lack of knowledge in the field of education and health care is not sufficiently reflected in the potential production that exists in the region.
