Abstract:

Studies have shown that dental students are more depressed, anxious and stressful than other departments. The aim of this study is to improve the scale of Stress (PPS) in Pedodontial Practice. This study included 4th and 5th-class students who interns in the Pedodonti Clinic of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Inönü in the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 educational years. The factors that may be a source of stress in the Pedodonti clinic have been categorized by taking the opinion of experts and developed the PPS scale consisting of 4 sub-dimensional 29 substances. Explanatory and Verifying Factor Analysis (DFA) and scope validity index methods have been used to determine the validity of the form. The scale reliability Cronbach α has been tested with the internal consistency rate, the total correlation of the substance, the test-re-test analysis. The DFA conformity index values for the PPS scale were found in the desired interval, the Cronbach α reliability ratio was 0.915. The PPS scale has been established as a valid and reliable tool that can be used to evaluate the stress that may occur in the pedodontic clinics. With the use of the PPS scale, it will be possible to determine stress factors that can affect the doctor's efficiency, the patient's conformity and therefore the effectiveness of treatment by creating stress in pedodontial clinics.
