Abstract:

Abstract enThe purpose of this study is evaluate the current candidate teacher training process with the views of school heads. The universe of the study that used simple random model consists of 33 school heads working at primary schools in the central district of Elazığ in the 2016-2017 academic years.  To collect data prepared in three open-ended questions are asked to obtain school heads opinion. In the analysis of the data obtained, the content analysis methods used in the analysis of qualitative research has been applied and grouping according to similarity of expression and themes were developed. The opinion of the school heads, who draw attention to each theme are directly reflected in the quotations.  According to the results obtained from the opinions of the school administrators at the end of the research, the head of school mostly expressed the opinion that the currently candidate teaching process being implemented is necessary. In addition, school administrators who believe in the necessity of candidate teachers suggested that internship with senior teacher, internship in all regions, in-service training. Most of the school administrators expressed their view that this process was not carried out properly about teachers as advisor. School administrators expressing the opinion that the advisor teacher selection is not being carried out appropriately suggested that experienced counselors, successful counselors, and objective counselors.
