Amaç: Bu çalışma, yoğun bakım ve ameliyathane hemşirelerinin etik karar verme sürecinde gösterdikleri etik duyarlılıkları incelenmek amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı olarak planlanan çalışmanın örneklemini, Temmuz-Ağustos 2013 tarihleri arasında bir üniversite hastanesinin yoğun bakım ve ameliyathane ünitelerinde çalışan ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 49 hemşire oluşturdu. Veriler sosyodemografik ve çalışma özelliklerini içeren 7 soruluk bilgi formu ve 30 maddelik Ahlaki Duyarlılık Anketi kullanılarak toplandı. Verilerin analizinde sıklık, yüzdelik, ortalama değerler, standart sapma, ANOVA ve t testleri kullanıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya katılan yoğun bakım ve ameliyathane hemşirelerinin ahlaki duyarlılık anketinden aldıkları toplam puan ortalaması (87,24±30,6), etik duyarlılığın düşük düzeyde olduğunu göstermiştir. Çalışmaya katılan hemşirelerin etik sorunlar karşısında eyleme karar verme ve uygulama boyutlarının daha düşük olduğu saptandı. Ameliyathane hemşirelerinin duyarlılıklarının tüm alt boyutlarda düşük olduğu belirlendi. Ayrıca bekar hemşirelerin duyarlılığının daha yüksek olduğu otonomi, yarar sağlama, bütüncül yaklaşım oryantasyon alt boyutlarında istatistiksel olarak fark olduğu görüldü. Sonuç: Ameliyathane hemşirelerinin etik duyarlılıkları yoğun bakım hemşirelerine göre düşük düzeyde olduğu saptandı. Bu nedenle, ameliyathane hemşirelerinin etik duyarlılığının artırılması ve etik sorunları tanıma ve çözümünün sağlanabilmesi için, hizmetiçi eğitim programlarının düzenlenmesi, kurumda etik duyarlılık çalışmalarının yapılması ve bu alanda yapılan çalışmaların artırılarak sonuçlarının görev yapan hemşirelerle paylaşılması önemlidir.
Purpose: This study was carried out with the aim of examining the ethical sensitivities that intensive care and surgical nurses show in the decision-making process. Method: The sample of the study planned as defining was made by 49 nurses who worked in the intensive care and surgical units of a university hospital between July and August 2013 and who agreed to participate in the research. The data was collected using 7 question information forms and 30 material Ethical Sensitivity Survey, which contains sociodemographic and work characteristics. Data analysis used frequency, percentage, average values, standard deviation, ANOVA and t tests. Results: The average score they received from the ethical sensitivity survey (87.24 ± 30.6) of intensive care and surgical nurses involved in the study showed that the ethical sensitivity was low. The study found that nurses in the face of ethical problems had lower measures of action and implementation. The sensitivity of the surgeon nurses was found to be low in all subdimensions. It was also seen that the sensitivity of single nurses is higher and that it statistically differs in the lower dimensions of autonomy, benefit, integrated approach orientation. The result: the ethical sensitivity of the surgeon nurses was found to be low compared to the intensive care nurses. Therefore, in order to increase the ethical sensitivity of the surgeon nurses and to ensure the recognition and resolution of ethical problems, it is important to organize service training programs, to perform ethical sensitivity studies in the institution and to increase the work done in this field and to share their results with the nurses who are responsible.
