Abstract:

Since March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization has declared the disease a global epidemic, with the first vaccine occurring on December 1, 2019, the entire world has been fighting the Covid-19 epidemic in various dimensions. The Covid-19 epidemic has soon raised significant problems in the social, political, economic and social fields. The most important problems that affect the countries have also emerged in the education system. In the last century, the advanced level of development has been seen in the provision of education throughout the school stages. But Covid-19 is the biggest and most important challenge that educational systems worldwide have faced. This research aims to identify the challenges that first-class teachers encounter in the process of the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic from teachers who are forced to take distance education and to present solutions. There are 45 first-class teachers who are working in the province of Konya. The basic quality research model has been used for this research. The quality data of the research was obtained by the researchers through a semi-configured interview form. Six questions about the demographic characteristics of class teachers in the semi-structured interview form, followed by the research goal of the teachers in the process of educational technologies and eight open end questions aimed at identifying the challenges they encounter when teaching their students first reading and writing and the solutions proposals. After the interviews, a visual analysis was carried out. The participants’ opinions of the study were combined in themes and quoted from the participants’ opinions. According to the results of the research, in the process of distance learning, first-class teachers have experienced difficulties in the use of educational technologies, such as internet connection problems, technological vehicle failure, the problems students experience with the use of the application and the problems arising from the guardians.
