Abstract:

This study was conducted with the aim of examining the impact of healthcare staff working in the state hospital on safety performance of the security culture. The work was carried out in the Silverhane State Hospital between 25.03.2019-28.06.2019. At the time the study was carried out, 119 people who were active continuously employed in the hospital (the doctor-infermier-health technician) and who agreed to participate voluntarily in the study formed a working group. The work data is collected by face-to-face interview technique. The institution permission required for the study to be carried out and the scientific research and publication ethics board approval permission has been obtained. For the purpose of gathering data, the survey form "Security Culture and Security Performance" developed by Dursun in 2011 was used. The study found that there was no statistically meaningful difference between the security culture and security performance of employees, and that there were positive relationships with the security culture. There is no significant difference between the safety awareness scores of the participants in the work year 1-5 and the safety awareness scores of the participants in the work year 5 and above (p=,009). It is recommended that each organization creates the necessary security culture in accordance with the work safety objectives and is updated by providing the necessary training in this regard.
