Abstract:

This study aims to explore the relationship between coach-sports relationship level and prosocial and antisosial behavior level in sport. The research group in the 2019-2020 season licensedly participated in the 1st and 2nd league competitions, 60 women, 67 men and 127 volunteer athletes in total. Athletes with personal information have been applied the Trainer-Sports Relationship Measurement Turkish Version (ASIO) and the Prosocial and Anti-Social Behavior Measurement (PABBS) in Sport. In the analysis of the data, the normality test was first done, the independent sampling t-test, the Way One Anova test and the Pearson correlation test were used. For our study, the validity and reliability analysis values were also observed to be high. The findings obtained; athletes perceive the level of coach-athlete relationship "very high", while the prosocial and antisocial behavior level in sport is "mediate". The level of correlation between the two scales and the lower dimensions is also in the positive direction and in the middle level. When evaluating the trainer-athlete relationship, athletes have given high points to the most close and confident, then mutual understanding and communication and then the subdimensions of compatible work. When prosocial and antisocial behaviors are studied in the sport, they have scored that they often do prosocial behaviors against their team members and their opponents, and their antisocial behaviors against their team members and their opponents are rarely indicating what they do. However, according to demographic variables there were no significant differences in some subdimensions. As a result, we can say that basketball athletes perceive the level of coach-athlete relationship very high, they often show positive behavior in sport, and their negative behavior rarely.
