Hikmet, eskiden olduğu gibi günümüzde de bir bilgenin vaaz ve nasihat verirken ve insanlar arasında iyiliği yayarken istediği hedefe ulaşması için kullandığı kaynaklardandır. İlk asırlardan itibaren şairler, şiiri hikmeti ve öğütleri yaymak için kullanmışlardır. Öyle ki başlı başına Arap şiirinin ilim dallarından biri haline gelmiş, şairler bu konuda uzun kasideler ve hikmetli sözler dizmişlerdir. Asırlar boyunca hikmetleri kasidelerle anlatan şairler meşhur olmuş, bu kasideler faydalı nasihatler halinde gezginlerle dolaşarak toplumların hayatına dokunmuş, topluma fayda getirmiş ve faziletin yayılmasını sağlamıştır. Arapların birçok kelimeye yeni anlamlar yüklenmesinde büyük pay sahibi olan İslam’a girişi ve Arap olmayanların da İslam’a girerek Araplarla kaynaşması hikmetle dolu şiir sanatlarını daha da artırdı. Bu durum, tercüme hareketinin canlanmasına ve İslami ilimlerden beslendikten sonra Arap kültürü ile birleştirilerek kültür ve gelenekleri fark etmeksizin diğer milletlerin hikmetlerinden faydalanılmasıyla şiirin zenginleştirilmesine katkı sağladı. Ayrıca Arap dünyasında insanların doğasında, yaşam tarzlarında ve yaşam tarzlarının gelişiminde meydana gelen köklü değişiklikler; kültürlerin kaynaşmasında, ibret ve hikmetlerin ortaya çıkarılmasında ve böylece bu yeni toplumun çocukları arasında şiir yoluyla onlara güvenlik, refah, hayat güvenliği ve uyum getirecek şekilde yayılmasında büyük rol oynadı. Bu çalışmada, cahiliye döneminden başlayarak modern dönemin sonuna kadar hikmeti konu edinen bazı Arap şiirlerine yer verilmiş, hayatın farklı yönlerini konu edinen şiirlere ve bu şiirlerin toplumun ahlakını kıymetlendirme, insanı faziletlere yükseltme ve çirkin işlerden uzaklaşmasındaki rolüne vurgu yapmıştır. Şairlerin bazen kendi aralarındaki güzel ahlakla övündükleri bazen de kaybolmak üzere olan güzel huylara davet ettikleri görülmüştür. Şair kaybolan bu güzel huylara geri dönmeye davet eden hikmetler ve öğütler sıraladığı şiirler söylemiştir. Bu çalışma da asırlar boyunca Arap şiirinde hikmetin farklı yönleri incelenmiştir.
Wisdom is one of the resources that a sage uses to reach his desired goal while preaching and giving advice and spreading goodness among people. Since the first centuries, poets have used poetry to spread wisdom and preaching. So much so that it became one of the branches of Arabic poetries. Poets wrote long qasidas and wise words on this subject. Throughout the ages, poets became famous who composed poems that were transmitted by the travelers in the form of useful sermons that touched the lives of the people of society bringing benefit to it and spreading virtue in it. The art of poetry imbued with wisdom was increased by the entry of the Arabs into Islam, which had a great impact in adding new meanings to many words, as well as mixing of non-Arabs with Arabs when they entered Islam. Consequently, it contributed to revitalizing the translation movement and benefiting from the wisdom of other nations in enriching poetry with them after being nourished by Islamic sciences and integrating them with their cultures and customs regardless of their ways of living. In addition to this, the radical changes that occurred in the Arab environment in the nature of its people, its way of living, and the development of its ways of life, played a major role in integrating cultures, extracting lessons and wisdom, and then spreading it through poetry among the people of this new society, in a way that ascertains them security, prosperity, safe living, and harmony. In this study, some samples of Arabic poetry from the period of jahiliyya to the end of the modern period are presented, mentioning poems about different aspects of life and its place in adding value to the ethics of the society, raising the person to the virtue and recover him from low deeds and disgraceful states. The poets are seen sometimes proud of ethics and virtue spread beyond them, and sometimes inviting to virtues about to disappear. So, the poets composed poets with wisdom and sermon that calls to these disappearing virtues and embracing them which are the topic of this article as well as the different aspects of wisdom in the Arabic poetry throughout the centuries.
