Bu çalışmada GTSM’ de kullanılan müstesna sazlarımızdan kanun sazının yeri ve önemi konusu ele alınmış olup, betimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama (survey) tekniği ile yürütülmüştür. GTSM içinde önemli bir yere sahip olan kanun sazı özellikle 20. yy başlarında İstanbullu saz yapımcıları tarafından mandal sisteminin takılmasından sonra değerini ikiye katlamış ve yarım sazlardan (eksik)sayılan kanun sazı, tam sazlardan olduktan sonra çalımları ve GTSM’de kullanılırlığı ve önemi diğer sazlara oranla daha da artmıştır. Bu süreçte dünya çapında ün yapmış sanatçılarını ve bestekârlarını da yetiştirmiştir. Hatta kanun sazı için Ferid ALNAR bir konçerto bile yazılmıştır. Kanun sanatçıları ve akademisyenler saz üzerine çeşitli sempozyumlar, çalıştaylar ve paneller düzenlenmiş ve sonunda kanun sazı geleneğin yani meşk sisteminin yansıra metotla çalışılabilen bir sisteme de kavuşmuştur. Çalışmamız Asya’da bulunup, Türkler tarafından geliştirilen ve günümüzde en kıymetli sazlardan biri olan kanun sazının GTSM’deki önemine ve GTSM’ye yaptığı katkılara odaklanmıştır.
The place and importance of the qanun, one of the exclusive sazes used in GTSM, have been dealt with in this study which has been carried out with the survey technique, a descriptive research method. The saz of qanun has an important place in GTSM and doubled its value especially after the peg system was added to it by the saz makers in Istanbul in the 20th century. The saz of kanun, which was accepted as a half-saz until then, started to be accepted as a full saz. From then on its performance and usability in GTSM and importance increased more than the other sazes. In this process, Turkish music produced artists and composers of worldwide reputation. Ferid Alnar, one of the important names of this period, even wrote a concerto for the saz of qanun. Later on, qanun performers and academicians organized various symposiums, workshops and panels on this saz. The saz of qanun has finally come to be one that can be performed with a method as well as traditional system. Our study is concerned with the importance in GTSM of the saz of qanun, which was found in Asia and developed by Turks to be one of the most valuable sazes of the present time, and with the contributions of this saz to GTSM.
