Türkiye’de 1950’li yılar yeni iş kollarının açılması ve nüfus artışıyla kentleşmenin hızla arttığı bir dönemdir. Çok partili hayata geçiş ve Demokrat Parti’nin iktidara gelmesiyle başta büyük şehirler olmak üzere kentleşme hız kazanmıştır. Bu dönemde kentleşmenin hız kazanmasında, Çiftçiyi Topraklandırma Kanunu ile ekili arazilerin artışı, Marshall yardımları ile tarımda makineleşme, çiftçiye sağlanan ucuz krediler gibi tarım reformu uygulamaları etkili olmuştur. Bir diğer yandan ticaret ve sanayi sektöründeki gelişmeler de kentleşmenin hızlanmasına ve alt yapı bakımından yetersiz ve hazırlıksız olan kentlerin iç göçler sebebiyle çarpık olarak gelişmesine sebebiyet vermiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Demokrat Parti’nin iktidar olduğu 1950-1960 yılları arasında kentleşme hareketleri ve bu kentleşme olgusunun, Türkiye’nin o dönemdeki sosyo-ekonomik kültürel yapısına etkilerini inceleyerek kent olgusuna bakışını ortaya koymaktır
In Turkey, the 1950s are a period in which urbanization is rapidly increasing with the opening of new business arms and the increase in population. With the multi-party transition to life and the Democratic Party’s arrival to power, urbanization has gained rapidity, including major cities. In this period of urbanization has gained rapidity, agricultural reform practices have been effective, such as the Farmers Landing Act and the increase in planted land, Marshall’s aid and machinery in agriculture, cheap loans provided to the farmers. On the other hand, the developments in the trade and industrial sector have also led to the acceleration of urbanization and the development of cities that are insufficient and unprepared in terms of the sub-structure due to domestic migration. The aim of this study is to show the view of the urbanization movement between the 1950s and 1960s in which the Democratic Party was in power and the effects of this urbanization phenomenon on the socio-economic cultural structure of Turkey in that period.
