Abstract:

The banking sector, which has the largest share in the financial system in our country and is the most effective sector. Within the banking sector, participation banks gain an important place in the sector by increasing their asset size and sector share day by day. In this study, it is aimed to measure and compare the financial performances of participation banks and deposit banks operating in Turkey for the period of 2017-2021. In financial performance measurement, performance evaluation was made over seven criteria by using the total sector data for the 2017-2021 period of participation banks and deposit banks. First of all, after determining the importance weights of the criteria with the ENTROPI method, the alternatives were ranked with the COPRAS method. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that both participation banks and deposit banks have continuously increased their financial performance in the 2017-2021 period and the financial performance rankings of both sectors are exactly the same.
