Abstract:

Reading skills are given to individuals in the first years of their learning life. The fact that this skill cannot be gained or developed, as well as the fact that the individual is faced as a problem in every stage of his academic life, has negative reflections on his daily life. In this regard, it is necessary to identify the problems in reading skills and to intervene according to the problems. In this context, the study’s objective is to investigate the impact of reflective reading and SQ4R strategy on the removal of the reading difficulties of a primary-school third-class student. The study is designed in the action research pattern from the quality research methods. The theoretical framework and the student's reading skills are taken into account and the individualized reading program is prepared. As a data collection tool, the "False Analysis Inventory" has been used for reading texts and video recordings. This application is completed in a total of twenty-five lessons hours. The research results showed that the student’s reading level rises from the level of concern to the level of teaching.
