Abstract:

Leadership is one of the topics that are highly studied on the field of organizational behavior. Every day, new content is added and new concepts are continued to be examined.  Leadership is an important tool in achieving the desired goals in the environment in which people cooperate. Considering that the students of body education and sports college will be a body education teacher, a sports manager or a coach, these professions are included within the professional groups that lead to a particular group or community and are the professional groups with leadership characteristics of importance. This is why in this study the leadership behavior of these students was studied. The sample of this study, designed in a visual and quantitative manner, was formed by 293 volunteer students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports High School of Physical Education, Training and Sports Management. In the study, the leadership characteristics of students under the name of understanding and structure establishment were studied by two subdimensional aspects of gender, class level, study-visible section and sports life status variables. Since the data in the construction size did not show normal distribution in statistical analyses, Mann Whitney-U and Kruskal Wallis-H tests were used in two comparisons. In the dimension of understanding, the data show normal distribution, the statistical analysis used T-test in two comparisons and for more than two comparisons the one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) test. According to the findings of the study, the size of understanding; the part of the study and the sport life have been identified significant differences in statistical terms. In the structure of the structure; gender, according to the study departments, statistically significant differences are determined.
