II. Abdülhamid döneminin önemli devlet adamlarından Mehmed Nuri Bey’in kızları Zinnur ve Nuriye bulunduğu ortamın kadınlar üzerindeki baskısı nedeniylr Avrupa’ya kaçma planları yapmıştır. O sıralarda hayranı oldukları ünlü yazar Pierre Loti ile birkaç kez görüşme fırsatı bulmuşlardır. Bu görüşmeler Osmanlı kadınlarının genel durumu üzerine olmuştur. Kaçmayı kesin olarak kafalarına koyan kızlar evdeki çalışanları farklı yerlere göndererek bu fırsatı yakalamışlar, musiki muallimelerinin yardımıyla Sirkeci’den trene binerek Avrupa’nın yolunu tutmuşlardır. Kızların kaçtığı anlaşılınca Belgrad’da durdurulmak istenmiş fakat bu mümkün olmamıştır. Belgrad’dan gizlice Viyana’ya giden kızlar oradan Paris’e geçmişler ve burada kadınların özgürlüğü üzerine faaliyetlerde bulunmuşlardır. Kızların Avrupa’ya kaçışı ailesi üzerinde derin etki yaratmıştır. Konu, yaşandığı dönem itibarıyla yurt içinde ve yurt dışında büyük ses getirmiştir. Yıllar sonra büyük kızı Zinnur, Osmanlı topraklarına dönerek hayatına burada devam etmiştir. Nuriye ise Avrupalı bir kişi ile evlenmiş ve ömrünün geri kalanını orada sürdürmüştür. Bu çalışmanın amacı Mehmed Nuri Bey’in kızlarının Avrupa’ya kaçışında yaşanan olayları ve yarattığı etkiyi ortaya koymaktır. Nitekim bu doğrultuda Osmanlı Devleti’nin resmî kayıtları ve dönemin gazeteleri üzerinden konu anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır.
and II. A major state man of the Abdülhamid period, Mehmed Nuri's daughters, Zinnur and Nuriye, made plans to escape to Europe because of the pressure on women in the environment. They had the opportunity to meet the famous writer Pierre Loti several times. These discussions were about the general situation of the Ottoman women. The girls who put the escape on their heads have captured this opportunity by sending the workers in the house to different places, with the help of their music teachers, they have taken the way of Europe by riding from Sirkeci to the train. When the girls found out they fled, they were asked to be arrested in Belgrade, but that was not possible. The girls from Belgrade secretly went to Vienna passed from there to Paris, where they activated on women’s freedom. The escape of girls to Europe has a profound impact on their family. The issue brought a lot of sound in the country and abroad. Years later, her granddaughter Zinnur returned to the Ottoman territory and continued her life here. Nuri was married to a European man and spent the rest of his life there. The aim of this study is to reveal the events and the effects of Mr. Mehmed Nuri’s daughters fleeing Europe. In fact, in this direction, the issue was tried to be explained through the official records of the Ottoman State and the periodic newspapers.
