Abstract:

Purpose - Technologies within the University-Industrial Cooperation Framework are described as a driving force in the export of innovative products. This study examines the export performance of innovative enterprises operating in the technicians of the universities in Ankara. The study aims to determine the impact of business innovations on export performance. There are also three secondary objectives: to identify the factors that influence companies’ R&D and innovative product exports, to identify the problems that face in the innovation and export processes, and to measure the effectiveness of government supports that support these processes. Method - The data used has been collected by deep discussions with 44 entrepreneurs founding companies that export in the technicians of Ankara-based universities. The findings have been analyzed using the imagistic analysis methods appropriate to the quality research. Results - The research has identified various factors affecting the export performance of innovative enterprises; the innovation activities of enterprises have been found to have a positive impact on the export performance, and the state support in this area has been found to be beneficial but in some ways insufficient. Discussions - There are some problems that companies operating in the Technocent are facing in the innovation and export processes. Solutions are proposed to alleviate these problems. It is believed that external trade staff and R&D staff should be in cooperation. In this case, innovative product exports will be in the forefront.
