Abstract:

In the most general sense, concept of value, which can be expressed as important and valued phenomena has been gained in different forms since the early ages. One of the way which the values are gained from is television. In the last decade, it has been seen that among the television programs, especially animation type of movies are preferred by children. In this direction, it is aimed to investigate the values of the Cars 1 animation movie in the survey according to the social studies curriculum and UNESCO living values list. Designed in accordance with the qualitative research methodology, the research is based on document review. Content and descriptive analysis techniques were used together in the analysis of the data. According to the results of the research, it was found that the movie contains most of the values in Social Studies Curriculum and complete list of UNESCO living values. In addition, messages about values of respect, humility, sensitivity, cooperation, honesty, love and helpfulness are more emphasized in the movie
