Abstract:

It is a super amateur and 1. The aim is to study the levels of mental resilience in the amateur league footballers and to determine whether they differ according to demographic variables. The study was conducted in the 2018-2019 football season and with the participation of 320 amateur footballers. The Mental Resistance Scale was developed by Madrigal, Hamill and Gill (2013) consisting of 11 items and 1 sub-dimensions and adapted to Turkey by Erdoğan (2016). The lowest of the scale is 11 and the highest is 55. The high scores indicate that the mental resilience is high. The mental resilience of the researchers was 46.31±6.14. Comparison of the sequence average according to the variables was done with the Kruskal Wallis-H test. The test results showed that the order average of [X2(4)=11,738; p<0,05] according to the status variable varied significantly, and the order average of [X2(3)=23,488; p<0,05] according to the football perception variable varied significantly. Other variables have no meaning. The result can be linked to the fact that those who are very well aware of their football performance have a higher mental resilience than others, their level of development and their expectations in the future. The low mental resilience of non-working and official footballers compared to others can be seen as a decrease in the expectations for future professional development and progress.
