Abstract:

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN Convention on the Rights of the Child) The article is based on the "child's right to participate". The programme is based on the five levels of participation discussed by Shier in his (2001) article, “The Ways to Combination: Openings, Opportunities and Commitments”, consisting of a total of 15 events involving 2 project processes on nature and game themes. This study aims to determine whether the children who participate in the Child Participatory Education Program prepared on the basis of child participation develop more self-regulating skills than the children who do not participate in this program. In the study, quantum research methods were used as a "pre-test-final test control group experimental pattern". The research study group formed a total of 28 children from the 60-72 month age group, who were educated in two branches of an university-related kindergarten located in Istanbul in the 2016-2017 educational and educational year (14 children experimental group, 14 children control group). Experimental and control groups were created by unselective appointment, the experimental group applied the Child Participating Education Program, and the control group applied the same types of activities but not the participation processes. The collection of data for the research; the creation of experimental and control groups, the application of the Demographic Information Form and Pre-School Self-Regulation Scale to children as a pre-test, the implementation of the Child Participating Education Program and the implementation of the Pre-School Self-Regulation Scale as a pre-test. The study found that the Child Participatory Education Program has a significant impact on the development of self-regulating skills in children aged 60-72 months.
