Bitlisli Kemal Fevzi’nin Siirleri Uzerine Bir İnceleme
2020
Journal:
Anemon Muş Alparslan Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Dergisi
Author:
Abstract:

Kemal Fevzi is a Kurdish intellectual who was born in the last quarter of the nineteenth century, joined the Balkan War after studying at a military school and was retired since he got wounded in this war. After leaving the army, he concentrated on literary studies, and from 1912 to 1925, he wrote for the magazines and newspapers published by Kurdish intellectuals in Istanbul and took part in their political formations. However, this aspect of him cannot be seen in his two poetry books written in the modern style. His first book of poems, Ordudan Bir Ses (A Voice from the Army), consists of poems in which he shows his love for the Ottoman army with a nationalist approach, poems in which the enemies, especially the Russians are mentioned with a negative perspective and the themes love for the country and Turkism are handled. As for Elem Çiçekleri (Flowers of Sorrow), it is a work composed of poems consisting of more individual themes such as loneliness, pain of love, search for meaning for life and longing for the beloved.
