Abstract:

The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between the positive psychological capital levels and performance of healthcare employees. The study is a cutting-edge type and relational research. As a data collection tool, a survey form consisting of positive psychological capital, employees’ performance scales and demographic variables has been used. The data of the study were obtained from two private hospitals in the province of Istanbul, medical and administrative staff (n=102). The findings show that there is a high relationship between all dimensions of the positive psychological capital and the performance of the work. It has also been shown that the dimensions of positive psychological capital, hope, optimism and psychological resilience have meaningful and positive relationships. The psychological resistance variable, which is one of the dimensions of positive psychological capital, has been found to be a factor that significantly explains the performance of the worker at a high level. According to the findings, an organization culture in which the environment of hope and optimism is high increases the levels of employees' psychological resilience. It has a positive impact on the performance of the worker with high psychological resilience. In their healthcare, characterized by stress and intense working environment, it is recommended to carry out human resource practices that will allow employees to raise their psychological capital.
