Abstract:

This study was conducted to determine the effect of organizational culture in schools on teachers' creative thinking dispositions. In accordance with the purpose of the research, the research was designed and conducted according to the relational survey model. 384 volunteer teachers working in Eyüp, Fatih, Üsküdar, Ümraniye and Gaziosmanpaşa districts in Istanbul in the 2018-2019 academic year participated in the study. The data were collected using the "School Culture Scale" and "Marmara Creative Thinking Disposition Scale". The data were analyzed by correlation and regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that there is a significant positive relationship between the support culture, achievement culture and mission culture in schools and creative thinking dispositions of teachers. Teachers' creative thinking dispositions are influenced by task culture, support culture and success culture from highest to lowest. The relationship between bureaucratic culture and creative thinking dispositions of teachers is very low and the degree of influence is negligible. This finding gives a clue that teachers cannot develop their creative thinking dispositions in a bureaucratic school culture.
