Abstract:

Every success is based on communication. The ability of people to work in mutual cooperation depends on their communication with each other. Communication in the organization is divided into two, formal and informal communications. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of informal communication that employees establish on their organizational commitments. There is research in literature that lack of official communication affects organizational commitment in a negative way. However, there is no study on how informal communication affects the organizational commitment. In the framework of the study, it has been asked whether employees who work in different stages of the organization and other employees who are at the top, as and equal level according to themselves and those who do not work in the same organization but who are in communication because of the work have been asked whether they do not meet for social purposes except for the definition of the work. It has also been studied that the impact of informal communication on organizational commitment is significantly different from the sector and department studied. The analysis of the data collected from 405 people working in the public and private sector has concluded that informal communication has a positive impact on the organizational commitment and that this effect is not differentiated according to the department and sector.
