Abstract:

The medications used in the treatment of diseases in the case of incorrect, lack of, excessive or inappropriate use, although there is no solution to the existing disease, they also lead to other health problems. The lack of reasonable use of medications also brings with it health problems as well as economic problems. One of the most important facts in the fight against these problems is the patients/users. Therefore, this study aims to determine the behavior and information of the adults who apply to the pharmacy on the reasonable use of the medication and to determine whether their behavior differs according to their individual characteristics. The study was conducted in Sivas. The survey included 319 people and the data on the behavior and information status of the participants regarding the reasonable use of the drug was collected through the survey form. The data collected was analyzed with the SPSS 25.0 program and used in the research identifying statistics and ki-core analysis. The research finds that education and age variables are two important variables that affect the reasonable use of medication and that healthcare staff is considered a safe consulting unit before the use of medication.
