Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, öğretmenlerin psikolojik sermaye algıları ile okul müdürlerinin toksik liderlik davranışları arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya çıkarmaktır. İlişkisel tarama modelinde tasarlanan araştırmanın evrenini 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında Trabzon il merkezi ve ilçelerinde bulunan ortaöğretim kurumlarında görev yapmakta olan öğretmenler oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi ise ortaöğretim kurumlarında görev yapan öğretmenlerden tesadüfî örnekleme yoluyla seçilmiştir. Bu bağlamda araştırma, toplam 495 öğretmen ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak Psikolojik Sermaye Ölçeği, Toksik Liderlik Ölçeği ve Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, öğretmenlerin psikolojik sermaye algılarının yüksek; toksik liderlik algılarının ise düşük düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırmada öğretmenlerin psikolojik sermaye ile toksik liderlik algıları arasında negatif yönde düşük düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca toksik liderlik davranışının öğretmenlerin psikolojik sermaye algılarının anlamlı bir yordayıcısı olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
The main objective of this research is to reveal the relationship between teachers’ psychological capital perceptions and school managers’ toxic leadership behaviors. The universe of research designed in the relational scan model is formed by teachers who are working in the educational and educational institutions located in the Trabzon province center and districts in the 2017-2018 educational year. The examples of the study were selected by random sampling from teachers working in the high school institutions. The study was conducted with a total of 495 teachers. The research used the psychological capital scale, the toxic leadership scale and the personal information form as a data collection tool. The research found that teachers’ psychological capital perceptions were high, while toxic leadership perceptions were low. The study found that there was a low-level meaningful relationship between teachers’ psychological capital and toxic leadership perceptions in a negative direction. It has also been concluded that toxic leadership behavior is a meaningful promoter of teachers’ psychological capital perceptions.
