Abstract:

It is known that written texts used to improve the reading skills in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language are included in the textbooks. Advanced students are difficult to understand the original written texts, while early and middle-level students are difficult to understand these texts because they don’t have enough language. Therefore, to ensure that these written texts can be properly included in the textbooks, it is necessary to be brought to the appropriate level in the framework of certain methods and standards. From this idea, the purpose of the study is to study the adapted texts used in the lessons prepared for the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language, in terms of compliance with the text adaptation criteria. The quality of the study is based on the document examination of research methods. Before the study was carried out, the adapted texts in the Turkish B1 teaching set for New Hitit Foreigners were identified, the original sources of adapted texts were reached and the text assessment tool was prepared that contains the text adaptation criteria. For the adaptation processes in the created text assessment tool, the Turkish A1-A2 for New Hittite Foreigners and the Turkish B1 for New Hittite Foreigners are based on the language knowledge ranking included in the teaching set. At the end of the review, the frequency and percentage values of the transactions were calculated and the ratio of the transactions in adjusted texts was presented. New Hitit Foreigners for the Turkish B1 curriculum and the workbook on the adapted texts made by the texts adaptation processes has been achieved to the conclusion that the most vocal simplification process has been made.
