Abstract:

Attention Deficiency Hyperactivity Disorder (DHB) is sometimes used to obtain additional information about the individual because the DHB can be interfered with some cognitive processes related to the intelligence or prevent the effective conduct of these processes Therefore children with the diagnosis of the DHB show different profiles in the intelligence scales. This also prevents the intelligence scales from displaying consistent profiles in the DEHB diagnosis. The cognitive profiles that individuals who have been pre-diagnosed in the intelligence scale are studied to determine the incapacity of intelligence scales in the recognition of DEHB. This study aims to study the cognitive profiles of children diagnosed with DEHB in the Guidelines and Research Centers (RAM) within the Ministry of National Education (MEB) which began to be used since 2017 in the Anadolu Sak Intelligence Scale (ASIS). Relational scan model was used in the research. According to the study, 102 children were previously diagnosed with ADHD. The findings were also compared with the ASIS standard points. Children with DEHB showed significantly lower performance than the normal group average in all their ASIS index and sub-tests. The average of the group’s memory capacity index (BKE) was significantly lower than the average of the oral potential index (SPE) and visual potential index (GPE). When the subtests were studied, the participants found that the words, which are a dimension of visual successive processing memory and language development, which is a component of the processing memory, showed significantly lower performance than the other subtests in the subtests. The profiles that children diagnosed with ADHD show in ASIS indicate that the memory that works in individuals with attention deficiency and hyperactivity disorder is weak, and that accordingly learning, especially language acquisition, can be low.
