Abstract:

The study of the imagination styles of athletes in different branches according to various variables is the aim of this subject. The universe of the research consists of 259 athletes between the ages of 18-29 in different branches who are active in sports in 2019-2020. In the research, “Sports Imagery Questionnaire”, which Kızıldağ adapted to Turkish in 2007, was used to collect data. The data obtained were analyzed in SPSS package 23.0 program. As a result of the normality test, it was determined that the data were distributed normally, and Independent Sample T-Test and One-Way Analysis of Variance were used. Statistical significance value was accepted as P <0.05. As a result of the analysis, a significance in favor of males was found in the visualization sub-dimensions and overall score by gender. According to the year of doing sports, it was determined that the more years of doing sports, the higher the visualization score was P <0.05. According to the branch variable, a difference was found between the athletes engaged in kickboxing, football and taekwondo branches and the athletes engaged in the volleyball branch P <0.05. As a result, it can be said that the variables of gender, sports year and branch affect the level of imagination.
