Hz. Muhammed’in (s.a.s) yaşamış olduğu Kureyş kabilesi içinde güvenirliğinin bir göstergesi olan “Emîn” vasfıyla tesmiye edilmesi, nübüvvetinden sonra ise Sahâbe-i Kirâm’ın hayatlarının tertip ve tanziminde büyük rolü olan ve onun doğruluğu ve güvenirliğinin belgeleri mesâbesindeki söz, fiil ve takrîrlerini hem muhafazası hem de gelecek nesillere intikâli için yazmaya gayret sarf etmişlerdir. Hz. Peygamber’e (s.a.s) nâzil edilen âyetlerle hadislerin karışmasını engellemek için Hz. Peygamberin bazı sahâbîlerin hadis yazmalarına izin vermediği ancak öğrendiklerini ezberleyemeyen ve hâfızasından şikâyet eden bir sahâbîye ise: “sağ elinden yardım iste” diyerek yazmasını tavsiye etmiştir. Emevî Halifesi Ömer b. Abdilazîz’in talimatıyla hadislerin tedvîn edilmesi yanında tabiînin Sahâbe-i Kirâm’ın işittikleri hadisleri Tebeu’t-Tâbiîn’e intikâl ettirerek hicrî 3. asırda hadislerin tasnîf edildiği tebliğimizin ilk bölümünde ele alınmıştır. Hz. Peygamberin vefatından sonra da Sahâbe-i Kirâm, bazı fetihlere katılmak, ilim tahsil etmek, Hz. Peygamber’in tek bir hadisini işitmek veya tek bir hadisin râvisinden o hadisi dinleyebilmek için Medine’den ayrılarak Mısır, Basra, Şâm, Kûfe, Bağdat başta olmak üzere pek çok beldeye hadîs talebi için seyahat etmişlerdir. Bu hadis talebi için çıkılan yolculuklara “talebu’l-ilm” veya “talebu’l-hadis” denilmiştir. Biz de tebliğimizde Hadis talebi için çıkılan yolculukları ve amaçlarını ele aldık.
