Abstract:

One of the conditions that are increasingly prevalent in the working life, which negatively affects the work performance and employees is the outbreak syndrome. This study aims to examine the levels of extinction of teachers working in the field of private education in the program where they graduate, the variables in which individuals take responsibilities according to the obstacle group, seek a profession, find the type of task, find the profession suitable for themselves, support from their colleagues and appreciation from their employers. The study’s work group consists of eight private educational centers located on the Anadolu side of Istanbul and two sports educational centers of special education, pre-school, class and body education teachers who are volunteers. The three-dimensional Maslach Satisfaction Scale, which consists of the subspaces of emotional exhaustion, insensitivity and personal failure for the collection of data, was prepared by the researcher and the personal information form that included the questions of the teachers’ age, gender, civil status, area in which they graduated, the time of work in the profession, the type of disability in which they worked, whether they chose their profession voluntarily, whether they see their profession suitable for themselves, whether they find the income they obtain from their work sufficient, whether they find the income they obtain from their work, whether they are able to communicate and cooperate with their colleagues, whether they have received sufficient appreciation from the employer in relation to their work performance. According to the analyses made, it has been found that the levels of extinction of special education teachers have significant differences according to the low scales of emotional extinction, personal failure and insensitivity, the area of work, the field of graduation, the view of their profession to be appropriate for themselves, being in cooperation with their colleagues, appreciating their manager, and choosing their profession by desire. The research results were discussed with the studies in literature and recommendations for future studies were presented and the limitations of the research were expressed.
