Abstract:

Goal: Mobile technologies are seen as a tool in dealing with most of the problems arising in healthcare. The aim of this study is to investigate the availability of mobile health applications in hospitals. Method: The research method is used in the study. The universe of research is composed of 18 senior and middle-level managers working in a public hospital in the province of İzmir. In the study, the method of sampling was used for the purposes of the test. The study was conducted with 5 demographic questions and 15 expressions prepared by the opinion of 2 experts in the field. The research was carried out with 10 managers using a deep, individual, semi-configured face-to-face interview technique. In the analysis of the data, Walcott’s process of quality data analysis was adopted, consisting of three stages. Results: Research finds that mobile health applications are a tool available in hospitals. There are also some disadvantages of the use of mobile health applications. The strengthening of the technical and legal understruct for the use of mobile health applications, the elimination of all elements that can prevent the flow of patient information through these applications and the problem of the flow of patient information through these applications without a complete safety. Result: As a result, the selection of pilot areas regarding the use of mobile health applications to take advantage of the opportunities offered by mobile communication technologies for our country, making the necessary arrangements in light of the findings obtained, the spread of these arrangements and initiatives in Turkey is considered to be very necessary for more modern health services.
