Abstract:

One of the most important and productive periods of human life is the youth period, and the nations that throughout history care about the development of young people have always risen up and captured success. Today, political parties, which are seen as an important element of political life, are trying to convince the voter with their election statements on behalf of the party they represent. In their election announcements, the parties rank their promises on all the fields of policy that concern society. Considering that the election and elected age are 18 years, it can be said that young voters are both influenced and influenced by the country’s policies. Therefore, the youth policy in Turkey is of great importance. The aim of this study is to contribute to the awareness of the public about the youth policies of political parties, and to increase awareness of issues related to youth policies. In this context, the General Election Statements of the political parties 24 June 2018 are examined in terms of youth policy areas. Election statements are preferred because they are one of the most important documents that reflect the policies of political parties. The five most voting political parties in the elections were voted. In the study, the election statements were examined in terms of content and the political promises of the political parties in terms of themes targeted to young people. Research findings have found that when the parties are examining the election statements, the statements about young people have similar/different promises and projects. Some political parties have given too much place to youth policies in party statements, while some parties have given less place. The most promised area is the youth’s employment area. It has been emphasized that the results of the youth policies should be revealed by different studies.
