Abstract:

Callan Method is a method based on providing fluent and correct answers to questions using the target language to develop students' correct and fluent speech skills. It is designed to teach the target language quickly and effectively. This study has studied the impact of Turkish as a foreign language in teaching on fluent and correct speech skills. The work is designed as an action research. The study group consists of 18 international students from 13 different countries who learn Turkish at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University TÖMER in the 2015-2016 academic year. Callan method has been used to speak to students in the A2 and B1 courses, and to correct speech errors in the B2 and C1 courses. Questions related to reading texts were answered and students discussed on the subject. Students are determined to be able to respond quickly and ask questions to the questions asked in the A2 and B1 courses; in the same way, they have improved their skills to speak the words correctly along with fluent speech in the B2 and C1 courses.
