Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı, İngilizce öğretmenliği öğretmen adaylarının, ders planı hazırlamaya ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemektir. Araştırma tarama modelindedir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Dumlupınar Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi İngilizce Öğretmenliği Sertifika Programında öğrenim gören 122 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, istatistiksel yöntemler kullanılarak faktör analizi ve güvenilirlik çalışmaları yapılan ve 21 maddeden oluşan bir anket hazırlanıp kullanılmıştır. Anketin iç tutarlılık katsayısı (Cronbach Alpha) 0.87'dir. Verilerin analizinde; yüzde, frekans, Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis H teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Bulgulara göre, İngilizce öğretmenliği öğretmen adaylarının yarıdan fazlası (% 63) öğretmenlerin hazır yapılmış planları kullanmayı tercih ettikleri görüşündedir. Öğretmen adayları, uygulama okullarında, öğretmenlerin planlama davranışlarını tam olarak gözlemleyemediklerini ve bunları kendilerine örnek alamadıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmen adaylarının yarıya yakını (% 46.7) deneyimli öğretmenlerin her gün yazılı olarak plan hazırlamalarının gerekmediği görüşündedir. Öğretmen adaylarının ders planı hazırlamaya ilişkin görüşleri arasında; cinsiyetlerine ve İngilizce öğretmenliğini sevmelerine göre anlamlı farklılıklar olduğu gözlenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre, öğretmen adaylarının, ders planlarının hazırlanması ile ilgili olumlu görüşlere yeterli düzeyde sahip olmadıkları söylenebilir. Öğretmen adaylarının ders planlarının hazırlanmasına ilişkin olumlu görüşler geliştirebilmeleri için hem öğretim elemanlarının hem de okullardaki uygulama öğretmenlerinin örnek davranışlar göstermeleri gerekmektedir. Anahtar Kelimeler: İngilizce öğretmenliği, öğretmen adayı, öğretmen eğitimi, ders planı Abstract The aim of this study is to determine the prospective English teachers' views about preparing lesson plans. Survey model is used in the study. The sample of this study is composed of  122 prospective English Language teachers being trained at Certificate Program for English Language Education at  Education Faculty, Dumlupınar University. In the study, a questionnaire with 21 items, whose factor and reliability analyses were conducted using statistical procedures, was prepared and used as the data gathering instrument. Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.87. For data analysis, frequency, percentage, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H test techniques were used. Depending on the findings, more than half of the prospective teachers (63 %) believe that teachers prefer using ready-made lesson plans. Prospective teachers state that they did not have the chance to observe teachers' planning behaviours exactly so they could not take them as an example for themselves. Nearly half (46.7 %) of the prospective teachers believe that experienced teachers do not need to prepare written plans daily. Significant differences were found on the prospective English teachers' views about preparing lesson plans according to their gender and whether they like English language teaching profession or not. Based on the research findings, it can be said that prospective teachers do not have sufficient positive views about preparing lesson plans. For them to develop positive ideas about preparing lesson plans, it is necessary that both lecturers at university and practice teachers at practice schools show model behaviours.
