Abstract:

The process of understanding and understanding of a text on the screen is called screen reading. With technology entering all areas of life, the importance of screen reading has also increased rapidly. With tools such as mobile phone, computer, cellphone, tablet, etc. it is now possible to do screen reading anytime and anywhere. Screen reading, which is intensely involved in life, has become an important concept in education as well. As well as cognitive skills as well as attitudes, sensational characteristics are also important in the success of educational activities. This also applies to screen reading; in this regard, it is a topic that students should study on their attitudes to screen reading. This work was done in the scan model. The study group consists of 211 high school students studying in the Uşak province. The principle of easy accessibility and volunteering has been taken into account during the creation of a working group. The data was obtained using the "Screen Reading Attitude Scale" (ECY) prepared by Susar Red (2017). The data was studied according to gender, class level, the total number of pages they read and screen reading purposes. SPSS 16 package program has been used for data analysis, T test and one-way variance analysis (One-Way ANOVA) has been implemented. The study found that the attitudes of students to read on the screen and on the paper are only a differentiation in favor of men on the gender level; that there is no differentiation according to the class level, the total number of pages they read and the screen reading purposes.
