Abstract In this study it is aimed to analyse the self efficacy and burnout levels of school principals in terms of several variables and to determine the relationship between their self efficacy and burnout levels The population of this descriptive study consists of school principals working at public nursery primary and high schools in the central town of Sanlıurfa In the study to determine the perceptions of principals regarding self efficacy ldquo;Self Efficacy Scale for School Administrators rdquo; developed 2004 by Tschannen Moran and Garies and adapted to Turkish 2009 by Donmez Ozer and Comert and to determine the burnout levels of principals ldquo;Maslach Burnout Inventory rdquo; developed nbsp; 1981 by Maslach and Jackson and adapted to Turkish 1992 by Ergin were used The findings of the study are; school principals evaluate themselves sufficient as ldquo;much rdquo; in terms of self efficacy scale as ldquo;fairly rdquo; in terms of ethical and instructional leadership as ldquo;much rdquo; in terms of total self efficacy; in terms of burnout they experienced burnout at ldquo;moderately rdquo; level; in terms of several variables of the study self efficacy and burnout of principals vary significantly Another finding of the study is that there are negative and moderate level of correlations between levels of burnout and beliefs of self efficacy nbsp; Keywords:Self efficacy burnout school principal stress
