Abstract:

It is known that the theatres have a characteristic that impresses the people and reaches publicly. The document was obtained from the Prime Minister's Ottoman Archives. It is seen in the period of Abdülhamid censorship that the works of the mushrooms (harmful) are considered to come to the beginning of the peas. There are many reasons that cause it. One of these is that many people in this period, using the theatre, have tried to transmit their political ideas to everyone through literature. The theatres were also carefully examined by the censors, like other kinds of joy, and the theatres were not allowed to be tabed (pressed) nor to be pleased or performed. The question of which of the markets and theatres are not allowed to show and print is tried to be answered in accordance with the archive documents. This is the work [1]. It was prepared for the purpose of keeping light on the literary and press life in the period of Abdülhamid. The work is supported by examples taken from the Ottoman Archive. As a result of the study, the censorship of the Abdülhamid period was taken into consideration according to the examples given through the pitches and theatres and evaluated from the literary history. The “Reflections of the Censorship of the Abdülhamid Period in Literature” is prepared by the Institute of Social Sciences of the Gazi University in the New Turkish Literature Science Division, taking advantage of the unpublished master’s thesis.
