Abstract:

Hemodialysis treatment negatively affects patients with chronic kidney failure and their families from psychological, social and economic aspects and may lead to psychosocial adjustment problems in patients. This study aims to determine whether social work intervention based on solution focused brief therapy has an effect on psychosocial adjustment level of a patient with chronic kidney failure. Six sessions were worked with the patient and changes in the patient are demonstrated with pretest and posttest measurements. The findings indicated that social work intervention based on solution focused brief therapy has positive effects on psychosocial adjustment level of the patient with chronic kidney failure.
