Abstract:

According to the functional approach, texts are meaningless if they are not presented or performed to reactive listeners. Briefly, on the functional approach, it has been aimed to be revealed the qualities which the folklore performance acted creates on the listener or performer and the results which the folklore performance acted comes in sight. The prevalence of mass media, globalization, and social needs create individuals separated from their values and culture by conducting away from the community. In order to correct this fault in society, the functions of folk literature products about transferring cultural values, ensuring social order and public education should be revived. In this context, the importance of the tales cannot be denied in the transfer of cultural objects facing the danger of disappearance, in preparing the individual for the future and in their mother tongue education. Tales are not consisted of plain texts and they feature in with the functions of that they make people have a nice time, enjoy, entertain; of educating the society regarding to values, social institutions, morals and helping to the society by providing cultural transmission. Likewise, tales are the power which has quite important functions in point of creating a mechanism for the society and the individuals to get rid of social and personal pressure. Tales, one of the disappearing genres of narrative tradition, are reshaped in the narrator’s language and provide its listener with new achievements in each one. This study aims to emphasize the importance of realize how effective the tale is ; of getting benefit from this force in an organized, institutional, planned, controlled and systematic way and of putting the project of tale house into practice on the basis of all these when it is approached to the tales from a functional point of view.
