Abstract:

Health psychology is a biopsychosocial branch of psychology and one of the most prominent research topic in this field is trauma. To be defined as traumatic a situation must be unexpected and uncontrollable. Not only physical causes like natural disasters but also chronic ilnesses including cancer etc. can also be evaluated as a form of psychological trauma in this manner. Goal of this study, in light of contemporary literature, is to offer ways for developing better psychosocial prevention and aid methods for individuals suffering from chronic illnesses which target implementing feeling of self sufficiency and body integration in these individuals.
